Parasti bezvadu maršrutētājam ir viena kabeļu interneta pieslēgvieta, četras datoru pieslēgvietas (kuras var papildināt, izmantojot switch komutatoru) un antenas, kas nodrošina apraidi datoriem un citām WiFi iekārtām.
