Kirjeldus - PRL SYRENA 104 – beež Otsus alustada uue Poola kompaktauto projekteerimist tehti 1953. aasta mais tollase valitsuse presidiumi poolt: „...tuleb luua populaarne transpordivahend, mis säästab aega töö- ja vaba aja tegevuste läbiviimisel ning on mõeldud uuendajatele, eeskujulikele töötajatele, aktivistidele, teadlastele ja intelligentsi juhtivatele esindajatele.“ 1955. aasta juunis esitati Syrena prototüüp esimest korda avalikkusele 24. rahvusvahelisel Poznańi messil. Syrena 104 oli viimane mudel, millel olid „enesetapuks sobivad uksed”, mis avanesid sõidusuunaga vastupidises suunas.
